I would absolutely love that! I mean, who does not want more energy? With more energy, your efficiency level would shoot up! You could get more done in less time. Hitting the gym would no longer be such a drag. And hanging out with friends would be so much more fun if you’re not sleepy the whole time. Personally, I feel like my day is done by the time the clock hits 3 pm. Too early, I know! There’s just so much more I could be doing after 3 pm! This is when I Googled “how to have more energy”.   1. Yawn away

“Yawning is your body’s way of cooling down the brain, essentially waking it up,” explains Andrew Gallup, PhD, a research associate at Princeton University.

Yawning is a natural way to send more oxygen to the brain.


  1. Get moving

Two hours. That’s how long you’ll feel revved up after taking just a 10-minute walk, according to a study in Personality and Social Psychology.

Best Fit Life TIP: If it’s cold or raining outside and you have access to stairs, take them. Walking up the stairs, as high as they go, then back down and up again, as many times as you can in 10 minutes, will change your day and your body.

It’s official: We give you permission to watch that dancing hamster video at work. A good laugh raises your blood pressure and boosts heart rate, too, which can pump you up when you’re feeling sluggish, says Robert R. Provine, PhD, author of Laughter.

Spotting something scarlet can actually kick you into high gear. Seeing the fiery color makes your muscles move faster and work harder, giving you a burst of energy when you need it most, according to University of Rochester research. Keep crimson flowers in your sight line to pep up a jam-packed day.

  1. Stretch it out (but a quick 1-minute warm-up first):

Dragging? Try this invigorating stretch, but first, it’s important to get your body warmed up and your blood flow pumping. Just one minute will make a difference. You can do squats for one minute, or jumping jacks, or half and half, or whatever other warm-up you choose.

Power Stretch: Stand in a doorway, facing forward with feet several inches apart, and reach to the sides of the frame. Grab the frame with your fingers, then push your chest forward until you feel a stretch in your torso and back; hold for 30 seconds. “This stretch stimulates the sympathetic nervous system,” explains Timothy McCall, MD, a yoga instructor in Oakland, California, “so it’s energizing for the body and mind.”
